# Cachet

## Naming
"Cachet" alone is the FAMILY, not this product. This product is "Cachet Card", always named in
full. The family page is https://cachetcomplete.com/.

## What it does today (verifiable by opening a card)
- A card is a web page at /c/<slug>. The recipient needs no account and no application.
- Save hands the recipient a standard vCard 3.0 file with an embedded photo, served at
  /c/<slug>/contact.vcf. It lands in their own address book, syncs to their other devices, and
  keeps working offline and after they change phones. It does not depend on this product existing.
- 6 distinct card designs (Cachet Card, Aman, Obsidian, Aurora, The Key, Baseline),
  6 intro animations, and 6 colour schemes. Cachet Card is the
  parameterised flagship; the other five are self-contained designs.
- Every card shown on the marketing page is a LIVE render of the real product, not a screenshot.
- A per-card QR code and a per-card Open Graph image, so a shared link previews as the card.
- Multiple cards per person (an operating role, an advisory seat, a personal one), handed out
  separately.
- A card is edited after it is handed out and the link keeps resolving to the current version, so
  a number change reaches everyone who kept it.
- Cachet Contacts at /contacts holds the cards you keep. A kept card stays current when its owner
  updates it, and the whole list exports as a .vcf. Signed out it is held on that one device;
  signing in merges kept contacts and your own cards into the account and mirrors them to every
  device you sign in on.

## What it deliberately does NOT do (these are design decisions, not gaps)
- NO lead-capture form. Nothing is collected from the person receiving the card.
- NO notification to the card's owner that somebody viewed it. Only an anonymous aggregate count
  of saves exists, with nothing in it that could identify a person.
- NO profile is built of the recipient, and no contact enrichment of any kind.
- NO CRM sync. This product ends when your details are on their phone.

## Scope (what is and is not in the product today, stated plainly)
- Built for one person's card: no team accounts, administrator console, or bulk deployment.
- Delivered as a web page opened from a link, so there is no native application and no
  Apple Wallet or Google Wallet pass, and nothing to install on either side.
- No email-signature builder.
- No physical NFC card. The card is a link.
- Nothing is charged today, and the final price is published before anyone pays.

## Competitors (prices read off each vendor's own pricing page; re-check before quoting)
- HiHello: Free; Professional $6/mo ($72/yr); Business $5/user/mo; Enterprise custom (2026-07-26).
- Blinq: Free (two cards); Premium $9.99/mo ($7.33 annual); Business $6.99/mo per card,
  five-card minimum (2026-07-27).
- Popl: does not publish a price; it states on its own site that it quotes over a meeting.
- WHAT THEY OFFER, in their own terms: HiHello and Blinq both ship Wallet passes,
  email-signature builders and native apps, both sell team plans with admin and deployment, and
  both offer lead capture and contact enrichment on paid plans. Blinq also scans other people's
  paper cards. Those are sales-team products, bought and deployed for a team.
- WHAT THIS ONE IS: the card is a designed artifact with cinematic openings rather than a form; the
  free tier carries one typeset line ("Crafted with Cachet") rather than a vendor advertisement; and
  the recipient is never captured, notified about, enriched, or profiled. It is bought by the
  person whose name is on it.

Free to use. Nothing has been charged. The pricing shown on the marketing page is an explicit
draft, published early so it can be judged, and it is not on sale.
